Quilling is a great medium that combines the tactile qualities of paper with the architecturalness of sculpture.
In recent years, I have concentrated on a kind of quilling that does not require framing. It is glued and covered in polyurethane so it becomes quite stiff. Pieces are very light-weight so you don't have to worry about glass breaking and so on. These are perfect pieces for a kitchen, a nursery or children's room or to brighten any room.
I call this technique "Chunky Funk Quilling" because it creates a bold, modern and funky look.
